Featuring a low-trail fork, small front luggage rack, and generator-hub wire routing, the Roamer remains true to the constructeur spirit of European randonnee bicycles.
The low-trail steering geometry minimizes any effect the weight of the handlebar bag may have on steering. In addition to that this frame is built with an extra-low center of gravity for confidence-inspiring road-feel and stability, even when you’re half-conscious. Frame, fork, rack, and Spectrum Powder Works finish starts at $2800.
Capricorn frame features
650B Wheels
The original high-volume tire. Most currently available 650b tires are made with the finest casing and materials for minimal weight and a supple ride. The 650B wheel itself is smaller than the ubiquitous 700c, making it a better choice for small frames, or when a stouter wheel with a plush ride is desired.
1" Threaded or Threadless, Standard
Nothing tops off a classically-inspired bicycle like a Nitto quill stem, and you can't use one of those without a fork cut for one. Quill stem option also requires a lock-nut headset, which adjusts with two wrenches just like loose-ball hubs.
Custom Considerations
Since each Roamer is built individually I can be open to special requests. Some examples have included custom fender installation, decaleur fabrication, specific light mounts/placement, even bespoke rack bags. Since I can't keep up with all the specific gear, and most of my randonnuer clients seem to specifically know what they want the frame built around, I do often receive said gear from said clients to build into the finished product. It's a chance to put new thought into each project.
